  2.                The Handy Bendy SAVEGAME feature...
  3.  
  4. Here on this section of the disk, kindly provided by the sweat and 
  5. toil of one of our local club members Rob,  (Ta v.  much!) are two 
  6. very  interesting  and potentially useful  'save-game'  files  for 
  7. Frontier..
  8.  
  9. (Also a bit of work put in on MAJORTOM by myself lately..)
  10.  
  11. The  first  one of these MAJORTOM gives you a very  useful  leg-up 
  12. into this game,  with a much bigger ship (A Tiger Trader) which is 
  13. tooled-up with a non-wimpy 4MW Beam laser,  eight shield units,  a 
  14. hull  auto-repair  system (!) auto-pilot,  radar mapper,  scanner, 
  15. atmospheric  shielding, fuel/cargo scoop etc..

  17. Additionally  you now have an 'Elite' rating of  'Competent',  a 
  18. Federal military rank of corporal, loadsa cash, four crew members, 
  19. and  some  medals or awards and permits..  not bad eh!!  Up to you 
  20. what to do with it from there..

  22. The second 'save-game',  IMPERIAL,  gives you an identical ship to 
  23. MAJORTOM  but  puts you right in the middle of a mission  you  are 
  24. carrying  out on behalf of the Federation,  that is to destroy  an 
  25. Imperial  courier ship..  You are already in the solar system  and 
  26. targeted and should just click on autopilot to get to that  ship.. 
  27. Successful  destruction tends to result in all his friends  coming 
  28. to  take out their frustrations on you,  and you are involved in a 
  29. HUGE pitched battle,  which if you survive, would suggest that any 
  30. accolades are well earned..  I actually did manage to complete the 
  31. mission  and fight my way out of the aftermath,  but got a  busted 
  32. hyperdrive  as a result..  The shipyard at the local spaceport was 
  33. unable to help, so I was left with a useless ship.. Such is life..

  35. It  may be a good idea to pause the game and have a  quick  fiddle 
  36. with  the options menu as the joystick may be off (If you  are  a 
  37. joystick user) and that infernal "music" has a habit of cropping up 
  38. at the worst times....

  40. Yes these are useable on Falcon as well...
